Three Generations !!!!!  The Sisco's have been with BMA for long time Dad David and son Ricky began with BMA in 1981. Now the third generation has began, Nick age 7. David has been active for the the last 28 years while Ricky has been go for 20 but came back with his son in February. It is great to have three generations training at BMA.   Blann's Karate program encourages families to train together and here is proof that it works. David 5th degree, Nick yellow belt and Ricky is a first degree.

Shawn StoneShawn Stone won 1st place in Kata and Kumite at the 10th Traditional Karate Championships in Owensborrow, Ky and he was selected the "Outstanding Athlete" under 18 years old.  Shawn is currently underfeated in 2009. Congratulations !!!!!

The Brown belt test was huge success with eight receiving their brown belts and two earning their stripes on their brown belts. CONGRATULATIONS !

2008 SBEC karate class with instructors (top row) Sempai James Yates, Shihan Jimmy Blann and Sensei Micaheal Collier.    The age range for the students are 6 years to 9 years old. This BMA's 12th year to have classes at SBEC.



Congratulations to Jordan "Rudy" Moore of Hernando she won the USANKF 10 year old kumite National Championship in Houston, Tx. in July.

Sensei Vicki with her competition from the Nationals. Sensei won her first match but lost her second match that would put her in second place and a Silver Medal. "Way to go Sensei!"

Tammy Griffus shown here with Shihan Blann teamed up with a couple ladies from the WADO style to win the 18-34 Female Team National Championship in Houston.  Tammy also took a bronze medal in the +60 kilo female individual.    Tammy will travel with the National Wado-Ryu team to the Wado World Championships in Vancouver, BC the last week of Augsut.

BMA students compete for the Alabama State Championship in Hoover last May. Becky Flinn edge out Emily Carballo for the womens sparring (kumite) championship as Dr. Clay Morton referees.
